Sweet-Sad Dream
3 May 2021 11:55I had a dream the other night that started sweet and then ended sort of sad.
In it, I was at what looked like a house I had retired to, and my parents and 2 sisters came to visit. The sisters looked like they do now, but the parents looked like when I was young. And my parents seemed happy and laughing -- something they don't do much anymore. I think when people get older, they sometimes get get more tired, and older people sometimes stop smiling and laughing as much.
In the dream, it was nice visit, and I was doing something inside, when I realized that my parents and 1 sister were leaving -- without having said goodbye. That made me kinda sad, so I rushed outside to say goodbye before they left. And then the dream sort of turned sad because it seemed to be more of a dream about them departing for good -- more about their death than just about a departing a normal visit.
In any event, I had thought to drive down Saturday to visit outside with them for Mother's Day, but my mom still doesn't want the visitors yet. Not until COVID has gotten more under control. I did send a card, but maybe we'll do a video call -- not satisfying.
