Dream Last Night
4 Nov 2023 19:18Some background...In 2015 and for a couple years, I hosted several Couchsurfers at my house.
In the end, there were 4 different guests in total, and a couple of them stayed a couple of different times. It was very interesting, and I enjoyed meeting the folks. But I haven't hosted since.
The most interesting guest was probably the guy from Belgian who stayed here 7 days in a row -- he had had a bucket list item to see the world bike races outside of Europe, and they were in my city in the US that year! And so he contacted me about staying here. He was the very first Couchsurfer I hosted!
One of the guys that stayed with me during that time has been on my mind lately. I had no reason to be thinking about him, but he has kept coming to mind. He was/is a fellow photographer. I have been wondering why I kept thinking about him lately.
And then out of the blue 2 nights ago, he texted me about talking on the phone. So we talked. Nice to catch up. Not sure why he texted. I sent a picture I took when he was here the last time. Nice talk.

So last night I had a weird dream. I boarded a train / bus and sat near near a guy I was friends with. The guy's boyfriend was also seated, but not next to the guy I knew. The guy I am friends with sat in front of me. His boyfriend sat across the aisle a ways.
My sense when I boarded was that I was there on the bus to offer moral support to the friend.
But when I first boarded the bus, I also suddenly saw my partner -- this is the partner that died many years ago. And he was sitting beside this friend on the bus. I did a HUGE double take and was really happy to see my partner. But nobody else could see him.
And that was the end of what I could remember about the dream. I woke up and scribbled what I could remember.
