So we are nearing the end of the first part of Beowulf, about to finish "scene 1" so to speak. Each part tells a story:
  1. Beowulf and Grendel
  2. Beowulf and Grendel's mom
  3. Beowulf and the dragon.

End of Grendel

So...Grendel thought he was gonna again get his fill of man-meat tonight, but he found out very quickly that he had made a BEEG mistake, and that he had laid hands on the wrong one!

This is my (not at all ready for prime time) translation. I use a spreadsheet because it's the only way I can keep the poetic wording and various verb forms and Mercian (Anglian?) spellings straight!

(Still struggling on best way to present this. Copying and pasting table didn't work well, nor did copying and pasting text. So image captures it is!)
