Before the tropical storm arrived last night, I walked around the yard and realized how quiet it was. There were still some squirrels moving around and bird-chatter, but the air felt still and quiet.

I counted 9 caterpillars on the fennel last evening, and every one of them was at a dead halt. Perhaps that is normal behavior as night approaches -- I have not paid much attention -- but I wondered if it had to do with the storm's approach. They are outside this morning eating away, so the storm seemed to have had no impact on them.

I've been thinking about about the separation caused by the pandemic. Being a hugger, I really miss hugging folks! And I hope when we are able to do that again, that I won't take it for granted.

On a positive note, I certainly have been paying a lot of attention to the bugs in my yard, lol! I mean, when home a lot (working from home and otherwise), I have a lot of time to take strolls around the yard looking at plants.

It has also been nice working from home, so that I can get laundry done, and water plants, and stuff like that during work breaks. I only fill up the car once a month now, and then it is only 1/2 tank, so I could skip some months. Of course, a less positive aspect of working from home is that I run the AC a lot!
