Great Dismal Swamp
29 Apr 2024 07:29A friend and I went down to the Great Dismal Swamp just to walk -- we previously had been there in 2013, and BOTH of us forgot that this was a 10 mile round trip walk! I was not ready for 10 miles and needless to say, I was a bit sore the day after!
The lake in the middle of the swamp is one of only 2 natural lakes in Virginia --
We saw a fair amount of the local fauna, here a couple of shots of a snake and then turtles
And some Cypress "knees" --
