A friend and I drove up to see the newly opened Blue Ridge train tunnel. It was more exercise that I expected, and about exactly what I needed. We walked from the eastern trailhead through the tunnel to western trailhead. It was 2.5 miles each way, so a total of 5 miles. The thing that added extra exercise was that it got pretty hilly on the western end of the trail. The tunnel itself was about 8/10 mile long I believe.
Afterwards, we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Humpback Rocks picnic area and had our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and the came home. Very pleasant trip!

The flowers are continuing to bloom - peony below.

I love to cut and bring peonies inside --

And one of the climbing roses ("Blaze") --
